چکیده

shown in Fig. 2 and like the circuits of [I], realise an FI of value .Z-2 = Z,Z2 / Z 3 without requiring any passive component matching conditions. Changing the connections a,-b,, arbz to a,-b,, a, b, facilitates the realisation of negative FIs from the same circuits. A variety of single-resistance-tunable floating elements (such as ideal floating inductance, ideal resistively-variable floating capacitance, ideal floating FDNR etc.) are realisable by appropriate choice (resistive/capacitive) of impedances Z,, Z , and Z,. Thus, the structures proposed here possess all the properties of their predecessors [l] (quoted above), while requiring only three OMA(-)s as opposed to four OMA(-)s in the structures of [l]. From the considerations of [14--16], it follows that the FI configurations of the intended type (i.e. various kinds of FIs in lossless forms, without requiring any component matching and using only three passive components) cannot be realised with less than three nullors (OFNOMA(-)). Consequently, the new circuits of Fig. 2 are minimal in that they require not only a minimum number of passive components but also a minimum number of OMAs.

Empirical Mode Decomposition based Adaptive Filtering for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Channel Estimation

This paper presents an empirical mode decomposition (EMD) based adaptive filter (AF) for channel estimation in OFDM system.  In this method, length of channel impulse response (CIR) is first approximated using Akaike information criterion (AIC). Then, CIR is estimated using adaptive filter with EMD decomposed IMF of the received OFDM symbol. The correlation and kurtosis measures are used to sel...

Long Range Prediction of Fading Signals: Enabling Adaptive Transmission for Mobile Radio Channels

Recently it was proposed to adapt several transmission methods, including modulation, power control, channel coding and antenna diversity to rapidly time variant fading channel conditions. Prediction of the channel coefficients several tens-to-hundreds of symbols ahead is essential to realize these methods in practice. We describe a novel adaptive long range fading channel prediction algorithm ...

Applicability of Importance Sampling for Rayleigh Fading Mobile Radio Channels

1FB1 Dept. of Telecommunications, University of Bremen, P.0.Box 33 04 40, D-28334 Bremen, Germany Abstract: Estimating the bit error rate (BER) of complex digital communication systems has often been realised by using the Monte Carlo method. For very low BER, this method requires a high computational effort. Therefore, a lot of developments in theory and application of importance sampling (IS) ...

A Blind Hammerstein Diversity Combining Technique for Flat Fading Channels

Diversity combining techniques play an important role in combating the destructive effects of channel fading in wireless communication systems. In this work we present a blind diversity combining technique for Rayleigh flat fading channels based on Hammerstein type filters. We show that the performance of this technique is very close to ideal MRC system which is accepted as an optimum receiver ...
